Mills & Zoldak Potters
The traditional Sliptrailing decorating technique applies colored clay patterns on the surface of the wet clay using a bottle with a nozzle. We also decorate with brushes and cut sponges and other hand made tools to create intricate and subtle patterns on our work.
We use a variety of stoneware and porcelain clays, fired to a high temperature around 2350 deg F that makes them safe for eating and drinking and suitable for baking as well. Each piece is individually hand formed by Steve or Maureen on the potter's wheel and individually decorated. Firing in our gas reduction atmosphere kiln means the glazed surface has rich variety of texture and color. Each piece is made with care and attention to detail, ensuring that sipping from a mug, slicing warm apple pie from a pie plate or eating a salad from a bowl will make every experience special.
